Urban Oasis

Mobile application

CASE STUDY

9.png

The application was designed to educate city residents and facilitate meaningful dialogue with city offices and public landowners. Defining the target users was a key step in the process, allowing us to tailor the experience to their needs.

Social networks played a valuable role in this, as they provided insights from residents sharing their views on changes in their surroundings.

MY ROLE

Main designer— idea, research, design

PROBLEM

The lack of ecological and aesthetic education as well as the small amount of greenery in the city require organized action.

It turned out that there is no tool that will help build a dialogue between users and decision-making units, e.g. city offices or land owners.

The application is divided into three main functions:

1. EDUCATION

2. CREATE A DESIGN IN THE APPLICATION

3. SUBMISSION OF PROJECTS

The collection of the so-called good examples allows the user to quickly gain knowledge of what public spaces may look like, which may be an inspiration for the next step, eg. design.

The user has the option of using simple icons of trees, shrubs and small architecture to easily mark on the map what he would like to be in a given area.

The next step is to submit your projects by filling in the form and uploading files.

Thanks to the above activities, decision-making parties can select, give opinions and implement the actually needed features in the city.

An attractive urban space will be an oasis that will give you a break from everyday life.
